Performer-Plus
hydraulic-lifter camshafts are designed especially for lightly modified engines.
These camshafts are especially effective with stock and stock type 360 degree intake
manifolds. The output from this cam tends to drop off after 5,500 RPM. Perfect for
everyday, non-competition driving these camshafts will provide enough vacuum to operate
power brakes. Keep the oil clean and these cams will last the life of your
engine. The power characteristics are excellent when used for heavier loads such as
pickups, vans, recreational vehicles and other high torque applications.
Performer RPM hydraulic
lifter camshafts are for more exotic engines. Power begins at 1,500 RPM, which is
higher than idle. The output from this cam tends to drop off after 6,500 RPM.
A top end The finished engine and car combination for this type cam would include high
stall speed torque converter for automatic engines, high compression pistons, headers,
improved intake manifolds, larger carburetor and higher numeric ratio rear end
gears. Vacuum is reduced but will provide marginal use of power brakes.
Performer RPM Hydraulic
Roller Cam Hydraulic Roller Lifter cams offer increased lift and increased lift
rates. Edelbrock hydraulic lifter cams can be used with factory lifters. The
reduction of operating friction reduces engine heat, increases fuel mileage and increases
engine output directly. Hydraulic roller lifter camshafts have all the advantages of
standard hydraulic lifters with increased power and reduced heat.
Torker-Plus These
camshafts are designed for high RPM operation. Maximum power is optimal. The
cam is optimized for use with 180 degree intake manifolds like the Edelbrock Torker.
Vacuum is inadequate for accessories. Low end torque is minimal. This cam is
recommended only for competition applications.
